This Petaluma Predator Died Without A Trace

Ernesto C. Linayao, Jr. was born on March 17th, 1975, in Lodi, California, just outside of Stockton, a city he would live in for his entire life. He had a girlfriend, but they broke up in 2003, and he soon began to fill that void by chatting up strangers online.

On August 19th, 2006, Linayao, using the screen name "norcal8guy," began chatting with a 13-year-old girl named Leigh Anna, really a decoy for Perverted Justice. When she said she was grounded for being caught at a party, Linayao began one of the most alcohol-intensive conversations I've ever read. He asked what she liked to drink, and she responded with the good old "Mike's Hard Lemonade," which Linayao believed to be too sweet; he preferred jack and diet coke. He asked if she had a drinking buddy and said he would come over with movies and wine. He was about to drink wine before the conversation began, and he talked on and on about "getting wasted" with her and watching a movie from Blockbuster. He made what he called "jokes" that were completely inappropriate for a 13-year-old girl. He gradually introduced topics including kissing her and her giving him a massage, claiming he was joking after each time. He even asked her to pretend he was a gardener and she was having her way with him. I think his intent was malicious. He clearly knew what he was doing could get him into trouble, and yet he drove two hours from Stockton to Petaluma as soon as the decoy said she was home alone. I believe he took great care to avoid the sort of graphic sexual chat that some men have, and that fact is equally disturbing.

Linayao is, without question, one of the most mysterious predators in the franchise. He was never aired after showing up to the sting house in Petaluma, California, on August 27th, 2006; his picture wasn't featured on the Perverted Justice website; and one more thing. Linayao went through the legal system and, in 2009, pleaded guilty to a felony count of an attempted lewd act with a child and was sentenced to three years of probation with lifetime registration as a sex offender. His probation ended in 2012, and Linayao continued residing in Lodi. On February 26th, 2018, Linayao died at the age of 42. Nobody knows what caused his death, but his obsession with alcohol may have had something to do with it. Because he died over three years ago, his California Megan's Law page, which contained his address and his image, has been deleted. Even searches of internet archives failed to find a trace of Linayao's page. So, why write on such a predator? The fact that he is one of the dozen or so predators to have died and that he is the only one of those to do so without a trace is enough.
