To Catch A Predator Update: Darke County
Kevin Westerbeck was convicted in November 2006 of luring a child in Darke County and had 9 months added to his sentence of 11 months for soliciting a police decoy in Fairborn in 2005. He was also convicted of molesting his niece and sentenced to another 10 years as well as lifetime sexual predator status. He was released in December 2016, and he has been spotted stocking shelves at a Kroger store.
Jeffrey Stacy was convicted and sentenced to 6 months in jail, forfeiture of his car, probation until 2010, and sex offender registry until 2017. He was removed and later got married in 2018, his wife an ugly brute who apparently has no problem with child molestors. He was recently fired from a position instructing children at a karate dojo after his TCAP appearance was uncovered.
Timothy Isaac was convicted in 2006 and sentenced to 8 months in jail and RSO status until 2017. He was removed then, and little is known about his life since then. He, unfortunately, did not get 20 years in prison like he feared.
James Rutherford was the Catholic school teacher who was sentenced to 45 days in jail followed by probation until 2009 and RSO status until 2016. He has since remarried, another woman who seems to support pedophiles. He was never charged for masturbating on camera in front of a police decoy in a different sting. He has not taught since.
Alonzo Wade decided not to fight his case and instead pled guilty. He was sentenced to 67 days in jail for his plea with probation until 2009 and RSO status until 2016. He has since been removed from the registry, and he will live the rest of his life "fixed," as he himself claimed.
Davut Ozkan was convicted in 2006 and served 65 days in jail. He was designated as a sex offender and deported back to his native Turkey, where he committed suicide by jumping off of a building on December 1st, 2014, at 35 years old.
Jay Reffner's mom apparently wasn't able to get him off. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, probation until 2008, community service, and 10 years registration as a sex offender, a status that he had removed in 2016. Unbelievably, his marriage survived.
Ronelle Stephens-Tun crossed from Indiana into Ohio to rape a minor. He decided to take his case to trial and instead of being acquitted was convicted and sentenced to 7 months in jail. He remains on the sex offender registry to this day and is allegedly living in the state of Hawaii.
Robb Kline is a loser. Despite a light month in jail and probation until 2008, he decided to move to Kentucky and is registered as a sex offender there for life like our friend Ronelle. He is almost 35, and the only indication that he has aged past the age of 9 is a sorry excuse for a beard. He was featured in a video harassing TSA agents in Nashville.
Jason Schoeppner was the paramedic who decided to hurt a child. He was sentenced to a month in jail, probation until 2009, and sex offender registration until 2016. He never worked as a paramedic again, and he is believed to be divorced from his wife.
Kenneth Brinkman was sentenced to 8 months in jail (which included Christmas 2006) followed by probation until 2010 and RSO status until 2018. His wife successfully filed for divorce. Despite this, he remained active in St. Joseph's church, effectively running the church because the pastor was an elderly man. The church chose to ignore the facts of the case and allowed hims to remain while kicking out those who demanded he leave.
Joshua Tuttle received a year in prison, probation until 2008, sex offender registration until 2017, fines, community service, and counseling. Little information has been found about him aside from his sentence.
John Frantz received a month in jail followed by a month of house arrest, several years of probation, and sex offender registration until 2016. He apparently received a prognosis from the psychiatrist that stated that he could be rehabilitated, did not reoffend, and was removed from the registry as planned. That these men were not convicted of another crime is a good sign, but we can only hope they did not reoffend without getting caught.
Nathan Downhour recived 35 days in jail, 3 years probation, and RSO status until 2017. He has since been removed, and he has been spotted in a video working at a plastic sorting plant. He also appears to be in a relationship.
Roger Burmmitt was convicted and received 2 months in jail, probation until 2010, and RSO status until 2018 or 2019. He has since been removed from the registry, and he appears to be living in Toledo, Ohio.
Glenn Mitchell was the only gay black man caught on the show. He was sentenced to 92 days in jail when police found child porn on his computer and also had to register as a sex offender. I was able to find a number of articles and even an old RSO page, but records of him seem to have disappeared and his stint on the registry has since expired. He likely still lives in Carmel, Indiana. Some have doubted whether or not he even exists, but I believe he does as there are predators with less information about them and Indiana and Ohio have some pretty Draconian laws that cater to sexual predators.
Mahadevaswamy Chandrashekaraiah was the one predator in Ohio who was neither featured in the sting nor had his raw footage released. He received 6 months in jail, RSO status, and was subsequently deported from the United States.
Nicholas Bailey was also unaired, but his raw interview was released on YouTube. His is a case that reveals more of Ohio's leniency towards sex crimes. Because he was young, they decided the fact that he talked with 6 different children online about making out, naked cuddling, strip pool, and other acts did not matter and warranted a misdemeanor conviction and a sentence of 15 days in jail with 2 years probation. He has since become a rapper, a terrible one at that, who talks a lot about being in jail, although not what it was for.
Further evidence of Glenn Mitchell's existence is the case of Rick Rodriguez, an Indiana man who chatted with a decoy in the Darke County sting and was later arrested at a meetup with Secret Service agents. He received 5 years in prison, probation until 2014, and lifetime status as a sexual predator. He lives in Crown Point, Indiana.
Alot of these guys got less time than I did for a DUI. Damn.
