The Fat Four-Time Predator Isn't Bored Anymore

While not generally viewed as such, Keith Williams is, without a doubt, one of the worst predators to appear on "To Catch A Predator." Born on April 27th, 1973, Keith was 31 when he began (as far as we know) his career as a child molestor.

Living in Redondo Beach, California, and using the screen name "southbayguy310," Keith began a sexually explicit chat with a decoy he believed to be a 12-(soon to be 13-)year-old named Megan, a girl from Long Beach whose mom had just moved to California from North Carolina and whose dad lived in Florida. After confirming she was a minor, Williams asked if she had ever had a boyfriend, what her weight was (Megan said 100 pounds), and how she liked Cali before he got into his more graphic chat. He asked if she had given her boyfriend oral sex, if he had fingered her, if he ejaculated, if her privates were shaved, if she was a virgin, if she masturbated, what size her breasts were, if she ever became aroused online and watched men masturbate, and if she would ever meet a man online. He asked to have sex with her and then got into more graphic details. This chat occurred quite sporadically between February 2nd and March 8th, 2005, and was posted on the Perverted Justice website.

Not even a year later, Keith was online again chatting with another underaged girl using the same screen name. Just as he had lied about his age the first time (when he said he was 24), he lied again (saying this time he was 26). This time, he talked to a 13-year-old decoy named Chelsea. Aside from asking some of the same questions he asked "Megan," he asked if "Chelsea" had ever performed oral sex on a girl, what the largest penis she had ever taken was, if she had ever watched people have sex, if she had received anal sex, what her bra and panties looked like, if she was aroused and if her nipples were hard, if she had ever been drunk, and if he could videotape them having sex so he could watch it and masturbate to it later. This chat occurred on January 5th and January 6th, 2006, and he showed up that night, the first night of the Dateline sting in Riverside, California.

Keith Williams drove by the sting house that winter night in the desert and saw another predator being swarmed by police officers and taken to the ground. He called the decoy, and she explained that her neighbor had been arrested for dealing drugs. In a high-crime area like Riverside, that may be true, but the presence of police would be enough to scare any semi-reasonable person away. Not Keith, and it gets even more insane. He entered the back door, carrying alcohol in one hand and a camera in the other. When confronted by Chris Hansen, he admitted he saw the Herndon, Virginia, episode of "To Catch A Predator" and that he "didn't want to give an interview" before proceeding to give an interview. He trotted out a lot of excuses and tactics. He said he was bored once, and Chris ignored it; he said it again, and Chris told him to get a hobby; he said it a third, fourth, and fifth time, and Chris could only shout back "BORED?!?!" incredulously. Williams at first tried to say he didn't believe she was underage before being confronted with the chats and the fact that he saw her profile. He tried to brush off his bringing a camera, asked to know who Hansen was, and repeatedly called himself an idiot, seemingly resigned more to the fact that he was busted, if not that what he did was wrong. He said, "I'm admitting I'm wrong," before trying to hide his being busted by PJ in 2005 and claiming they never told him the age. He promised to throw his computer away and asked what kind of trouble he was in, apparently eager to just go to jail and get the ordeal over with. When the cameras came out, he kept talking, said he wasn't a bad guy, asked Chris to turn the cameras off, and left when that didn't work.

It only got worse for Keith Allen Williams. According to Perverted Justice, he was also chatting with a third underaged decoy, really a Perverted Justice contributor, at the same time he was chatting with Chelsea and showed up at the Dateline sting. During the Laguna Beach sting PJ conducted in February 2006, Keith, out on bond, began chatting up ANOTHER underaged Perverted Justice decoy, bringing his total to four decoys in under a year and three decoys in the past two months. Those are just the underaged children we know about.

Obviously, Williams, caught not only repeatedly soliciting young girls and showing up to rape one but also violating his bond by doing the same thing, could no longer conceivably take his case to trial and hope for an acquittal or even a lesser sentence. He pled guilty to a felony, attempting a lewd act with a child under 14, and was sentenced to a year in prison, five years of probation, and lifetime registration as a sex offender in early 2007. Perhaps not the strongest sentence, but one that has served to prevent him from offending again. Williams was released from prison in late 2007 and remained on probation until 2012.

Eager to escape the legal trouble he had found in California, Keith Williams moved to a lakefront home at 445 Elk Lake Drive in Owenton, Kentucky, where he lived as of April 24th, 2019. However, records indicate that the home was sold on August 28th, 2020, meaning Williams likely no longer resides there; there is no reason to believe he has left Kentucky.

In some ways, Keith Allen Williams is an entertaining predator; in some ways, he is a disturbing one. In spite of appearing like a bumbling oaf, he had the potential to ruin the lives of four young girls in just a year. He is 48 now; the justice system worked, if not perfectly, and he will spend the rest of his life registered as a sex offender in Kentucky, far from where life as he knew it came to an end. While certainly a prolific predator, Keith was also an easy one to catch, and we can hope the fact that he has not offended again in the past 15 years is indicative of his having learned a lesson and not having learned how to avoid being detected in his nefarious conversations.
