Florida Teacher Busted In Child Sex Sting Blows His Brains Out


     See that face? At first glance, it might appear to be the face of a student, more specifically one who takes the short bus to class every morning and should be considered lucky if he makes it through the day without needing a change of underwear. Actually, it's the face of a teacher, more specifically 37-year-old Anthony Michael Peace, who taught at Strawberry Crest High School in Hillsborough, Florida. And his luck just ran out.

     That is the face of a suicidal man, taken on the night of May 19th, 2021. In the early morning hours of May 20th, he was dead. His death was, as Joaquin Phoenix might say, a comedy, not a tragedy. I'm happy to report that he got a well-needed shave, and decided to take the rest of his head off with it using the quick and convenient gun that is so easy to obtain in Florida. Maybe all the kids saved from Professor Boombalatty's death can begin to balance out the school shootings Florida's lax gun laws usher in. Let's be honest: this was his only hope of losing weight.

     I'm cheering because Peace was arrested that day for numerous felony charges when he solicited nude photos from a 14-year-old boy who turned out to be an adult decoy. That wasn't the end of it. He had been a wrestling coach at the school, a physical "sport" notorious for sex abuse cases. That wasn't the end of it, either. Peace had been banned from coaching, but not teaching, when it was discovered he had invited numerous students over for sleepovers and even had a student living with him. All of these kids were in the same age group as the decoy child he was finally caught soliciting, and the HPD needs to find out if he sexually abused these kids. He killed himself when he was arrested, indicating he knew he had finally been caught and that there would be more ramifications down the road. He can't be charged now that he is dead, but his victims can be given counseling for their trauma.

     Friendly reminder that any judge presiding over a case of a child molestor getting beaten or worse is likely to understand why you did it, and the people who hear about it will likely support you! What do you have to lose?

     Matthew Clifton Cogburn was born on July 22nd, 1984, in Gray, Georgia, where he was raised and ultimately spent his life. Apparently, his childhood was fairly normal for a kid in Georgia: he spent eight years flattening out a pile of dirt near his home, enjoyed playing with LEGOs, was an average student in school, and was raised as a very religious child, attending church camps every summer. He graduated Jones County High School in 2002. Around 2004, he began chatting with strangers online, later attributing it to "undiagnosed OCD," a subpar explanation at best.      Cogburn worked and attended college in 2006, bouncing from apartment to apartment during the school year, and his employer had enough faith in him to actually give the man his job back after a minor setback occurred in the form of Cogburn's appearance on To Catch A Predator in July of that year.
