To Catch A Predator Update: Appleton
The inconsistencies within states regarding sentencing is sometimes hard to believe. Whereas the men caught in Milwaukee received on average a few years in prison, the men in Appleton, a city viewed as far more conservative, got off with far less punishment.
Michael L. Krezinski was a welcome exception. He received a year in jail followed by probation until 2016 and registration as a sex offender until 2037, when he will be nearly 55. He had gone AWOL from the army and was rearrested in 2016, but I was unable to find details on either case. He lives in Racine.
Ryan Gidlof of Menasha received a year in jail, probation until 2015, and registration as a sex offender until 2030, when he will be nearly 45. Not the best way for a young adult to start their life.
Neil Frank was sentenced to only three months in jail despite resisting arrest, and he was convicted for possession of child pornography in 2012. He was rearrested in September 2020 by the Department of Justice for enticing a minor. Because of his previous record, he will not get off easy. At minimum, he will serve 20 years, and he may face a life sentence.
Wyn Adkins of Menasha, where he currently resides, was acquitted after his case was taken to trial and a jury of toothless inbreds bought his excuse of entrapment. At least any time his name is searched, this case is virtually all that pops up.
Three convictions over four days after only four men of 72 who chatted showed up and an average sentence of nine months with early release and two men who reoffended. Not a successful sting.
Thank you Matthew for the update and to whom ever posted it on Reddit. I am alarmed by results of this "sting" and have always been uneasy with how many register offenders live in Appleton near schools and parks.
