To Catch A Predator Update: Grand Rapids, Part Two

Larry Lee Sypolt suffered for his chat even though he didn't show up. After being convicted in 2010, he earned probation until 2015, the conditions of which banned him from using a computer and mandated several thousand dollars in fines, and, even better, he had to register as a sex offender for life. He lives in Garden City, Michigan.

Scott Joseph Derouin didn't show up, but was still one of the worst caught in the investigation: the man from Escanaba had child porn. He received a year in jail with probation until 2015 and sex offender registration until 2025, with harsh restrictions placed on him.

Jason Robert Bigelow traveled 150 minutes to meet a child and drink her urine, which earned him 525,600-10,512,000 minutes, or 1-20 years, behind bars. He was released after only a year, but he will be an RSO until at least 2034 and live the rest of his life as a felon (think of what he'll have to write on job applications). He lives in Jonesville, Michigan.

Michael Alan Greenberg said he was a "good guy," but they generally don't earn 1-20 years in prison followed by probation and fines. His date of release was unknown, but he is registered as a sex offender for life in Thonotosassa, Florida, where he currently lives

Joshua Hoe was the most prolific chatter in Perverted Justice history, chatting with 31 decoys in less than a year. He was arrested by the Michigan Attorney General's office and Grand Rapids police and sentenced to 9 months in jail with probation and lifetime sex offender registration. He was fired from his job at the University of Michigan and lives in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Andrew Walthers was convicted and sentenced to 14 months in jail with lifetime registration as a sex offender for his online chats. He does not appear on the Michigan registry, making it likely he moved out of state.

Matthew Michael Sibal was sentenced to 1-20 years in prison and released after serving more than 7. He must register as a sex offender until 2041, effectively ending his life, and he has lived in Lansing since his release 2016.

Joseph George Morrow was sentenced to 18 months to 20 years in prison for chatting about his vacuum and pantyhose fetishes and driving to Grand Rapids, but he was released after serving the former. He must remain a registered sex offender until 2035, and he lives in East China, Michigan.

Bradley Lynn Wells took a plea deal and received 1 year in prison. He likely didn't have to register as a sex offender, as he would've had to register until 2025 or 2035. He lives in Wyoming, Michigan.

Tyson Dean Jenkins wept as he was sentenced to 18 months in prison, which he served. He lived in Indiana, but moved to Ohio upon his release, where he is currently registered in St. Mary's, and must register until 2035.

Larry Aspy was sentenced to 2.5 to 20 years in prison for traveling from Indiana to Grand Rapids to rape a child. He spent nearly 4 years in prison before being released, and he must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

Paul Charles Rudisel's case was a gross miscarriage of justice. His goal was to kidnap a girl and take her across state lines, despite having 8 kids between the ages of 9 and 27. He received a nice 1-20 year prison sentence for his troubles. However, he was not required to register as a sex offender as a part of the plea agreement. He lives in Traverse City.

Manikandan Dasarathao received 1-20 years in prison followed by lifetime sex offender registration, but he was deported to India after he served his prison time.

Jason Lee Ullery said that he could never have a daughter because he would find her too attractive. He took a plea deal to avoid a harsh sentence and received a year in the county jail with 10 years of RSO status, which expired in 2019. Little is known about him, as he is off the registry.
