Mountain Dew And Condoms: An Update On Brian Dory

     Brian Alan Dory was born on March 12th, 1982. His mother and father separated when he was young: he stayed with his mother and his sister and his father took a half-brother. Raised in Orlando, he lived in Longwood and worked as an interior landscape designer (a job that involves designing plant displays, primarily for places like hotel lobbies and businesses). He shared an apartment with a friend and was single at the time of the sting. However, he met his prior girlfriend, whom he dated for three years, online; she was apparently 22 when they broke it off in 2006. 

     Using the screen name "briman31282," Dory began chatting with a decoy he thought was a 14-year-old girl named Allison, or "Allie," on November 20th, 2006. He called her a "hottie" and said she had a "sexy smile" before discussing food at length with her. He resumed speaking with her on December 3rd, talking about all the good he did during the holiday season before mentioning that he was nude with throbbing genitalia and saying she had a "sexy body," he wanted to have doggy-style sex with her, he wanted to be naked the entire time he was there, and he wanted to "taste" her; asking if she would perform oral sex on him, asking her to engage in internet sex, and sending pictures of himself masturbating. If that were not disturbing enough, he also mentioned that he had previously had sex with a 15-year-old and that he had performed anal sex on her before asking the decoy if she would do the same. They chatted on a regular basis until the sting.

     On December 8th, 2006, Brian drove from Orlando to Flagler Beach, Florida, with marijuana, stopping at a gas station along the way for condoms and Mountain Dew. Clad in his Jack Daniels shirt, he was confronted by Chris Hansen before being arrested and interrogated by Detective Liz Williams and another female agent, who did not buy his story that he had decided not to have sex with the child while driving over. He tried other excuses, including saying that he did not know her age and trying to say that she initiated conversation. 

     On December 5th, 2007, he was convicted of three felonies: online solicitation, lewd or lascivious battery, and lewd exhibition. He was sentenced to two years in prison with eight years probation and lifetime RSO status. He was released from prison in early 2009, and his probation ended in early 2017. Perhaps most notably, he left prison without his long hair. 

     Brian Dory was married on October 4th, 2015. In March 2017, he moved to a three-bedroom, three-bathroom home (appraised at approximately $300,000) at 4784 Oren Brown Road in Kissimmee, Florida, where he currently resides. He works as a pool repairman at Blue Horizons Pools in Orlando, and he does not currently own a vehicle.

     Matthew Clifton Cogburn was born on July 22nd, 1984, in Gray, Georgia, where he was raised and ultimately spent his life. Apparently, his childhood was fairly normal for a kid in Georgia: he spent eight years flattening out a pile of dirt near his home, enjoyed playing with LEGOs, was an average student in school, and was raised as a very religious child, attending church camps every summer. He graduated Jones County High School in 2002. Around 2004, he began chatting with strangers online, later attributing it to "undiagnosed OCD," a subpar explanation at best.      Cogburn worked and attended college in 2006, bouncing from apartment to apartment during the school year, and his employer had enough faith in him to actually give the man his job back after a minor setback occurred in the form of Cogburn's appearance on To Catch A Predator in July of that year.
