Know The Signs Of Sexual Abuse

"Early, Open, Often" is a website dedicated entirely to teaching the signs of sexual abuse and opening a conversation. It is imperative that adults know these signs. Children do not have the language ability or the emotional development necessary to talk about how they broke a vase in the living room, nonetheless about an atrocity they have been subjected to. As such, parents have a responsibility to keep a watchful eye on the ones they love. Some of the signs of sexual abuse are below:

  1.      Sudden fear of certain people and places
  2.      Behavioral changes
  3.      Self-harm and delinquency
  4.      Changes in academic performance
  5.      Premature or unusual ideation of sexual activity
  6.      Changes in eating and sleeping patterns
  7.      Bedwetting or increased bedwetting
  8.      Blood or discharge near the genitals or rectum
  9.      Anxiety and depression
  10.      Anger
