Know The Signs Of Sexual Abuse
"Early, Open, Often" is a website dedicated entirely to teaching the signs of sexual abuse and opening a conversation. It is imperative that adults know these signs. Children do not have the language ability or the emotional development necessary to talk about how they broke a vase in the living room, nonetheless about an atrocity they have been subjected to. As such, parents have a responsibility to keep a watchful eye on the ones they love. Some of the signs of sexual abuse are below:
- Sudden fear of certain people and places
- Behavioral changes
- Self-harm and delinquency
- Changes in academic performance
- Premature or unusual ideation of sexual activity
- Changes in eating and sleeping patterns
- Bedwetting or increased bedwetting
- Blood or discharge near the genitals or rectum
- Anxiety and depression
- Anger
