To Catch A Predator Update: Oklahoma
Not all Perverted Justice stings were covered by the media, a prime example being Walters, Oklahoma. 11 individuals showed up in February 2007 and all were arrested and convicted with help from the local PD and the FBI.
One particular individual was a military carpenter named John Graham who was obsessed with getting a child pregnant. He received 3 years in prison, a dishonorable discharge, and lifetime RSO status.
Jamie Ramirez was another military man who received another sentence of 3 years in the brig after he pled guilty to avoid a harsher sentence. He also received a demotion to E1 and a dishonorable discharge from the military.
Shaun Green was the last predator to be convicted and tried hard to avoid incriminating himself, several times saying he was joking before showing up unannounced. His attempts failed and he received 5 years in prison with 15 years probation and lifetime sex offender registration.
Charles Shaffer was probably as happy with his sentence as he was when he drove four and a half hours for underage sex. He received 15 months in jail, to begin after Christmas was over, followed by 2 years probation. He did not have to register as a sex offender, the only man in the investigation to get off fairly lightly.
William Sill, on the other hand, got exactly what he deserved. He received 10 years in prison followed by 10 years of probation and lifetime RSO status.
Bobby Creech Thomas was a real Bobby Creep Thomas when he discussed drugs, threesomes, and sex toys with a child and brought the items to demonstrate his intent. He earned his psychopath ass 5 years in prison with 6 years probation and lifetime sex offender registration.
Lawrence Mai was already a registered sex offender when he showed up to the sting, and received a sentence to match: 11 years and 3 months in prison followed by 5 years probation, tightening of his registry restrictions, and even worse, a $100 fine. Any subsequent conviction would place him in the scope of the three-strikes-law and earn him a life sentence.
Christopher Dale thought a plea bargain would get him off with a slap on the wrist, but, like so many Oklahoma men, he was wrong. He got 10 years in prison followed by 10 years probation and lifetime RSO status, conditions including $5,000 in fines and a ban on internet use.
Jeffrey Mayrhofen was an interesting case, a paraplegic who admitted to molesting a 12-year-old in the past. He showed to the bust house in his wheelchair and rolled himself to a sentence of 10 years in state prison followed by 5 years probation and lifetime RSO status.
Scott Johnson was another sick individual with another excellent sentence: 11 years and 3 months in prison followed by 5 years probation and lifetime RSO status. He earned this, as his chat ranged from bestiality, to peeing in her dad's bed, to blackmail, to date rape, to pimping her out and making porn with her, and even having a threesome with her friends. Even more sick was that he had a daughter around the same age.
Shannon Sanner, aka stephentanner69, pretended to be a teen and admitted to molesting other kids. He deserved more than 5 years in prison with 6 years probation, but he did earn the ban on contact with minors and computer use that comes with his lifetime RSO status.
A littany of repeat offenders got an average sentence of 6 years and 8 months in prison followed by 5 years and 4 months probation and lifetime RSO status thanks to some FBI agents and old-fashioned Oklahoma justice.
