To Catch A Predator Update: Arkansas

Arkansas really does not like sexual predators in their state. Gary Wood learned this lesson the hard way when he was convicted of a class B felony (murder is a class A felony) and sentenced to 12 years in prison for crossing state lines from Oklahoma to have sex with a child. He has been in prison since 2008 and has yet to be released. When he is, he will face lifetime sex offender registration.

Like his friend, Jackie Beasley received 12 years in prison. He has since been released. He must remain on probation for 8 years, during which any violation could land him 5-10 more years in prison, and he must also be an RSO for life and is banned from using the internet. He lives in Nashville, Arkansas.

James Brock Lyons III (the ship name of like 3 different predators) also earned himself 12 years, and has unfortunately been released. I say unfortunately because he also had a large child porn collection, but at least he must live the rest of his life as an RSO who spent a decade in prison. He lives in Fort Smith.

Santiago Gaston had the misfortune of travelling across state lines from Texas to Arkansas to rape a child. Facing life in prison, he pled guilty to stalking a child and received the standard 12 years in prison, followed by 6 years parole and sex offender registration until 2030. He was released in 2015 and lives in Texarkana, Texas.

Mark Youngblood was already a sex offender due to the rape of a child in 2001. He was arrested for his online chat with a minor and sentenced to 7 years in prison for violating the conditions of his sex offender registration. He has since been released and lives as a registered sex offender in Spiro, Oklahoma.
