To Catch A Predator Update: Petaluma, Part Two

Joseph Roisman was the only predator to be acquitted in the history of the show except for William Lawrence Havey. He did not get off, though. He spent roughly $100,000 of money from his parents on his defense, which he fought for 5 years, drawing global press coverage. Immediately after his acquittal, he was kicked out of the Navy. He has been arrested on charges of drugs and indecent exposure, and his mugshots over the years show a deteriorating appearance. Forevermore, his name will also be linked to "To Catch A Predator."

Jaswinder Cheema was "very professional" in the lawyer he hired and tried to replicate the tactics used by Maurice Wolin, whom we shall discuss later. He couldn't avoid a conviction and received probation until 2013 and lifetime RSO status. He lives in Riverside, California.

Shaka Khan avoided the sentences given out to other Petaluma predators despite bringing alcohol to a minor after describing his wish to perform oral sex on her. He received 3 years of probation after he pleaded guilty to child endangerment, a felony. Even worse, he has to live with his name for the rest of his life.

Eugenio Peres was a waste of life. He began speaking sexually within 6 minutes of starting the chat, and he was sentenced to 9 months in jail with bans on things from computers to unsupervised contact with minors as an RSO for life. He also received more fines than any other Petaluma predator, including a habitual offender fine, that amounted to thousands of dollars.

As was Mohammed Aksoum. He loved boobs and spoke of women like property in his chat. He said he couldn't have sex with her until she was 18, but that double oral penetration would be fine. He earned 9 months in jail, probation until 2010, and lifetime registration as a sex offender. He lives in Walnut Creek, and is in violation of the terms of his registration.

James Craig Traylor, despite discussing group masturbation with other boys in his chat, never aired, and he dragged his case out until Christmas 2010, when he pleaded guilty and received 15 days in jail with probation and lifetime RSO status. He likely moved back to Alabama, where he mentioned he was from and confirmed by using the n-word in his chat.

Maurice Wolin hired an attorney and spent nearly $1 million on his legal defense, gaining notoriety as he received extensive press coverage for dragging out his case. He was convicted in 2010 and received 2 months in jail, probation until 2014, and lifetime sex offender registration. As a result of his felony conviction, his medical license was suspended. He and his wife briefly separated but appear to be back together; they have been married since 1996.

Juan Carlos Gutierrez received 9 months in jail, with credit for the 3 months he had already served, followed by probation until 2010 and lifetime RSO status. It did not matter, for he was deported to his home country following his time in jail.

Fernando Bernal received 6 months in jail, probation until 2013, and lifetime RSO status after pleading guilty in 2009. He was deported from the United States after being released from jail.

Ernesto Linayo drove by the house and didn't come in, but that didn't prevent his arrest. He dragged his case out for over 3 years, but that didn't prevent his conviction. In 2009, he was sentenced to probation until 2012, with random searches and drug tests and a ban on computer use, and remained a registered sex offender until 2019, after his imposed 10 years ended. He has not reoffended, but little else is known about him.

David Fraser drove by as another man was being arrested, but decided to get back online and bitch about the police to the decoy, where his proof of arrival was ascertained. He pled guilty to a lesser charge and received 2 years probation, which ended in 2011. Because he is not a registered sex offender, little is known about him.

Halloween was a scary day for Aminder Singh, as it was when he was convicted. He received 4 months in jail, probation until 2010, and lifetime sex offender registration. He lives in Morgan Hill, California, and has not reoffended.

Chi Kong "Bing" Liang was sentenced to 3 months in jail with probation until 2011, conditions including extensive fines and community service, and lifetime sex offender registration. He lives in Alameda, California.

Henry Joe Guzman received 4 months in jail, probation until 2010, and lifetime sex offender registration. His RSO picture is sideways, and he currently resides in a town called Broadmoor in San Mateo County.

A person arrested in the sting was identified as Chandra Nunna, which may be an abbreviation of some sort. They were likely convicted, as an acquittal would have been big news. If anyone has any info, let me know.
