To Catch A Predator Update: Jackson, Mississippi

Roberto Rosas earned himself a sentence of 10 years probation and lifetime RSO status despite thinking he was in the clear, but they were mostly just trophy stipulations as he was immediately deported back to Mexico.

Justin David Shaffer was a scary man. He had previously been convicted of a murder, which was later overturned after he served 9 years, and was also a suspect in a series of rapes. He wasn't able to get away with soliciting a child and bringing a knife to meet her at a church bench, however. He received 25 years in prison with no possibility for early release followed by $50,000 in fines and lifetime RSO status once he is released in the 2030s.

Johnny Chain actually begged to come see a minor and was rewarded with a year in prison with credit for the time he had served followed by lifetime RSO status. He initially planned to fight the charges, but was wise in pleading guilty for a lighter sentence.

David W. Pillow was a spoiled prick who fittingly brought a teddy bear to rape a child. His rich daddy, who apparently treats illnesses but doesn't think his son is sick, got the charges reduced to misdemeanors and David was sentenced to 2 years probation with a fine that daddy also paid.

Douglas Hindman demonstrates why red states do not deserve the reputation for justice that they have. He was convicted of misdemeanors thanks to Mississippi law and received a sentence of 5 years probation without sex offender registration. He was later pardoned by REPUBLICAN governor and pedophile expert Haley Barbour in 2012. That year, he began a partnership with MSU that was cancelled in 2018 after his prior arrest was uncovered. However, thanks to his case, a controversy arose and the law was changed, which makes the sting a complete success.

Justin A. Towery, for example, was arrested in 2009 thanks to Perverted Justice's work (3 years after the sting) and was sentenced to 5 years in prison with no early release followed by 5 years probation and lifetime RSO status.

These men may have gotten off lightly, but Perverted Justice succeeded in changing the law, which is a bigger victory than any single sting operation.
