To Catch A Predator Update: Fort Myers, Part Two

Not all the predators caught were unfortunate: Thomas Moffitt, Michael Wilusz, and Brian Gosselin retained a lawyer (to be highlighted in a future post) who made all three of them among the few outside of Murphy, Texas to get off. A hard drive crash destroyed these chat logs as well as those of Maurice Wolin and James Wiles. The lawyer attacked Perverted Justice's methods; Thomas Moffitt was acquitted because he never set foot in the house; Brian Gosselin avoided sexual language as best he could; Michael Wilusz, despite having confessed, got away due to aforementioned hard drive crash. Little is known about the men except that Wilusz lives in an affluent neighborhood of Lakeland, Florida, Gosselin save that he worked as a chauffeur, or Thomas Moffitt except that he is still married.

Dennis Ramsey got exactly what he deserved. He tried to use the excuse that he got amnesia and could not remember the sting. He fought his case all the way until 2010, when his conviction was affirmed and he was sentenced to 1 year and 9 months in jail followed by lifetime RSO status. He had to be placed in the witness protection program in jail because he provided info on fellow members of a motorcycle gang.

Elias Bailon could also have used protection; he was the predator worried his ten brothers-in-law would try to murder him. He was pretty safe for the 9 months he was in jail and the probation until 2010. However, after he was registered as a sex offender for life, he fled the country, his whereabouts unknown except that he is likely in Lati America.

Miguel Lozoya's parents paid for everything... until he got caught soliciting a minor online. He wasn't able to make bail and he received a sentence of 6 months in jail and probation until 2009. He must register as a sex offender for life, and he currently lives in Garden City, Kansas.

Daniel Trust has a lot to compensate for. He is only 5' 6'', and he was losing his hair at the age of 30. He was also described as among the most "boring and needy" pervs ever busted. He was convicted and sentenced to 9 months in jail, probation until 2011, and lifetime RSO status. He lives in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.

Peter Ernandez was more akin to Emmons than Lozoya or Trust in that, although unaired, he should have gotten a segment (he was seen in many scenes). He worked as a teen mental health counselor and moved quickly to get sex. He was sentenced to 9 months in jail, probation until 2010, and lifetime RSO status.

Jose Falcon is deaf, but he probably heard the cheers when he got sentenced to 9 months in jail, probation until 2010, and lifetime RSO status. He is unemployed.

Fredi Fernandez was sentenced at Christmas to 9 months in jail 3 years probation, and lifetime RSO status. When his probation expired, he was deported from the United States and joined Raul Brenes in Nicaragua.
