Sexual Abuse Counseling Week 11: Discover Ways To Manage Your Emotions

     Numerous tools have been given to you over the past 10 weeks, from finding a support group to finding a creative outlet, from focusing on the little things in life to finding a higher purpose. You were never told one thing: why?

     Sadness will happen. Guilt will happen. Anger will happen. Negative emotions are a natural part of biology, designed to keep people safe. However, it is up to you to manage them. These thoughts in most contexts function only to lead you astray and lie to you. You need to put yourself in control of what you think, feel, say, and do, because only the can you take control of your life.

     Some methods may work for everyone, and all methods may work for someone, but not all methods will work for everyone. Find what works for you and make an active effort to better your life. It is not a motivational mantra; it can be reality.
