Dairy State Degenerates: Stevens Point, WI

      

     Roy Grorich was convicted of first degree sexual assault of a child-- party to the crime and had a charge of exposure of genitialia dismissed. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison and must remain on probation and register as a sex offender for life. His wife divorced him while he was in prison. He lives at 1700 Monroe Street, Room 27. 

     Michael Godwin was convicted of the same charge, only with a habitual criminality modifier. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison and released in 2016 after serving his full sentence. He lives at 3421 Church Street, Room 74, of Knights Inn.

     Brian Griswold... guess what he was convicted of. The usual charge, as well as intentionally causing bodily harm to a child in his custody. He was initially sentenced to 15 years probation in 1995, but it was revoked in 2003 and he received 12 years in a local jail for fear of his safety in prison. He was released in 2013 and remained on probation until 2020. He must register as a sex offender for life, and he lives at 2133 Water Street, Apartment A. 

     Dan Gans was also convicted of said crime in 1997 and sentenced to a mere 9 months in jail with 5 years of probation and lifetime sex offender registration. He failed to provide information about his status in 2015 and received a fine. He lives at 1625 Main Street, Apartment B (lots of apartment-dwelling RSOs in Stevens Point).

     Paul M. Carpenter has dozens of drug, theft, traffic, fraud, and domestic abuse charges stemming back from 1994. He was convicted of second-degree sexual assault of a child in 1995 and sentenced to 3.5 years in a state prison. He was released in May 1998. In 2014, he violated his registry and received 2 years probation. He is currently non-compliant, and he lives at 1540 Torun Road, Lot 88.

     Peter J. Anderson was charged with 18 counts of possession of child pornography and pled guilty to 3 of the counts. He was sentenced to 3 years in state prison and released in August 2020. He must remain on probation until 2025 and register as a sex offender for life. He lives at 209 Division Street, Room 53, Point Motel.

     Robert J. Haessly was convicted of second-degree sexual assault of a child with a habitual criminality modifier and had a charged of witness intimidation dismissed for a guilty plea on the former. He was sentenced to 8 years in state prison. A man who must be his brother, Larry Haessly, was convicted of third-degree sexual assault and party to a crime, which means the two likely committed the rape together. He was sentenced to 4 years in prison. While Larry is compliant, Robert is not. Robert lives at 2027 Ellis Street, and Larry lives at 1017 Edgewood Avenue.
