To Catch A Predator Update: Riverside, Part One

Jerry Griffitt is currently 60 years old. He was sentenced to a year in prison followed by lifetime sex offender registration after he brought pie and made up a terrible lie on national television. His physical appearance has deteriorated rapidly.
Roberto Forte was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison for his appearance on "To Catch A Predator," a mercy sentence and the result of a plea bargain, as he was found in possession of child porn. He was also ordered to register as a sex offender, but it did not matter, for he died in prison in 2009.
A dead ringer to Forte is Daniel Allen, a convicted stalker who wanted a little girl to pee on him. He was sentenced to 3 years in prison, and he also died in 2009, less than a month after being released. Whether he even had time to register as a sex offender is unknown.
Mitchell Heylek is an interesting case. Just 38, he appears 55, probably a result of chronic drug use. He tried to play the insanity defense at his trial, but wound up being sentenced to 8 months in jail followed by 5 years probation and lifetime sex offender registration. He served from 2007 to 2013, which means that he likely acted up in prison and had to eat 6 years.
Nicholas Cocos is one of the scarier men never featured on the show, although he earned notoriety after his interview with Chris Hansen was uploaded to YouTube. He spent 2.5 years in prison for the incident as well as his involvement in a credit fraud ring and possession of a submachine gun. He is not currently listed on the Megan's Law website.
Thomas Bodnar is by far the scummiest person ever featured on the show. Because of his previous conviction for molesting 4 children under the age of 15, one of whom was developmentally disabled and another he met online, he received 15 years in prison. He was held after the sting and released in mid-2017. In 2020, he was arrested for possession of child pornography, and he will spend the rest of his worthless life in prison (under the three-strikes law, he will receive 5-10 years for violating his probation with 25-100 years for the child porn).
Under California's 3 strikes law, Michael Wehry was sentenced to 75 years to life. After appeal, his sentence was reduced to 50 years to life. He had previous convictions for aggravated assault and rape, and the world is a much better place without him.
Eddie "Hoi" Chan was sentenced to 3 years in prison. Initially released on bond, he faced an additional charge for hitting up a Laguna Beach decoy a month later, stating he would rather abscond than go to jail, and had his bond raised to $750,000, which he was unable to pay. He served his prison time and was subsequently deported from the United States.
"Eddie" Hyung Paek, another Riverside Eddie, absconded to South Korea, and he is still wanted by the Riverside County Sheriff's Office.
Paul Constantinescu was a metal bassist in the 80s who worked at Guitar Center when he was caught. He has a very creepy appearance and received an atrociously-short sentence of 3 months in jail. He was later accused of keeping a woman locked in his basement high on heroin and trying to sell her into a Korean trafficking ring. He was never convicted due to lack of evidence, and he has recently absconded his sex offender registration He may go back to prison for 6-12 months.
Speaking of creepy, Michael Seibert received 3.5 years in prison for showing up to Riverside. As visible in his Megan's Law photo, he resembles a mouse and has a large scar on the side of his head. More on him later.
Gregory Diederich and Maurice Ruiz made "TCAP" history as the only couple to show up and the only twosome in which both were convicted. Unbelievably, they pled guilty in exchange for 6 months each in jail, and, despite being registered sex offenders, they got to keep custody of Ruiz's children. At least lifetime sex offender registration will make the rest of their lives sheer hell.
Another twosome, Sebastian Rodriguez and David Macek, received a very different outcome. David merely came along with his friend: he had no online chat with the decoy, and clearly seemed shocked when he learned that the girl in question was 12. He was therefore released without charge. Sebastian on the other hand, copped a plea and received 3 months in jail. Like Mitchell Heylek, he spent a lot of extra time in prison: 4 years. He will be an RSO for life.
Gilbert Tito Sutherland dreamed of being a fire tech, but the arrogance he displayed in his attempt to molest a child cost him that dream. He was sentenced to a year in prison and lifetime sex offender registration. No, the girl was not 18.
Phillip Jaruhungsin's arrogance didn't help him either. Despite the desperate maneuverings of his lawyer, he was sentenced to 3 months in jail and lifetime sex offender registration.
