How Jared Fogle Lost 245 Pounds And 15 Years

Everyone knows Jared Fogle as the "Subway Guy," but few know his life story. He attended school until he received a bachelor's degree in 2000 at the age of 23. After he reportedly lost 245 pounds eating Subway and exercising, he became the Subway spokesman, the only job he held for 15 years, starting the year of his graduation.

In 2004, he started a charity called the "Jared Foundation" to stop childhood obesity, but the foundation raised little money and essentially served as a small source of welfare for the directors, prompting the AG of Indiana to shut it down in 2012. Had Subway had any common sense, they would have severed ties with him, if not then, then when charity director Russell Taylor was convicted of child exploitation and sentenced to 27 years in federal prison, attempting suicide that necessitated life support.

He was investigated in Florida in 2007 after he made lewd comments about a middle school girl, and he was recorded saying he wanted to install a camera in their rooms to watch them sleep. During the law enforcement investigation against Taylor, it was revealed Fogle solicited photos of children as young as 6. Cindy Mills had a relationship with Fogle and tried to report it to Subway, but they claimed they could do nothing and chose profits over the lives of children. In the messages he exchanged, he described abusing children ages 9 to 16 and tried to sell and solicit child prostitutes. He paid an underage prostitute for sex in New York City, pled guilty to 2 federal counts, and was sentenced to 13 to 16 years in prison with lifetime parole and sex offender registration.

He was ordered to pay 1.625 million dollars in fines, forfeitures, and reparations. While in prison, Fogle has demonstrated what a true scumbag he is. He appealed for 18 months and lost, being shipped from Kentucky to Oklahoma before finally ending up in Colorado. He was the subject of a civil suit and argued that the parents of the victim were liable, and he later tried to claim he was a sovereign citizen. After his arrest, his wife divorced him, took $7 million of his $15 million net worth, and got custody of the kids. If the civil suits continue, he could end up bankrupt by the time he leaves prison. He was assaulted by inmate Steven Nigg in 2018.

Fogle is not just a bad person; he is a perfect example of when corporations place their own profits over the possibility of dozens of children being raped and still sleep well at night knowing their safes are loaded with blood diamonds.
