Dairy State Degenerates: Gillett, WI

     

     Wesley Gauthier had a prior for theft and 6 speeding tickets, but ended up with a felony conviction after he solicited a decoy. He received a measly year in jail with work release and 200 hours of community service, and he was released after 6 months. However, he must register as a sex offender until the age of 60, in 2038, effectively ending his life. He lives at 5121 County Road HH.

     Clint D. Schroeder was charged with 10 counts of child pornography possession, pictures he took of a child. He pled guilty to one, and, even though he could have received 40 years in prison, ended up with a year-long sentence. He must register as a sex offender for life. He lives at 13929 Bloom Road.

     Michael J. Harvat was convicted of second-degree sexual assault on a child under 16 when he was 25, back in 1995. He was sentenced to 5 years in a state prison and released on Halloween Day, 1999. He must register as a sex offender for life, and he currently lives at 9180 Gray Lake Road.

     Rodney D. Umland is a scumbag. He was convicted of first-degree sexual assault on a child and had a charge of child porn dismissed as a part of the plea agreement. He could have spent decades in prison, but received a year in jail and 5 years probation. His wife filed for divorce the following year, 2005, and he was successfully sued for $150,000 by the victim. He may not have received the best sentence, but he lost his family, and I can only hope that the money was put toward a college fund or something else that allowed the child to lead a successful life. He lives at 11180 State Highway 32 N.
