Chris Hansen Is Back Catching Predators!
"To Catch A Predator" was a popular TV show that ran from June 2004 until December 2007. Over the course of 12 investigations, Chris Hansen confronted more than 300 sex predators, resulting in more than 240 men being convicted of felonies for soliciting a minor online for sex. The stings were seen by tens of millions of people and were the subject of extensive media coverage, contributing to the passage of the 2006 Adam Walsh Child Protection Act.
Hansen has also investigated airport regulations in the wake of 9/11, confronted hundreds of scammers, and taken on child slavery and prostitution in Asia. Since 2014, he has been a free agent, hosting shows like "Homicide For The Holidays" and "Killer Instinct" as well as "Crime Watch Daily." As part of the latter show, in 2015 he conducted a sting in Fairfield, Connecticut, called "Hansen vs. Predator" that led to 11 felony convictions. Since 2019, he has garnered over 300,000 subscribers and 20 million views on his YouTube show "Have A Seat With Chris Hansen," which has investigated high-profile predator cases like Onision and Dahvie Vanity.
Just days ago, Hansen announced a sting in Flint, Michigan, his home as a child. In an 8-hour span, 3 men chatted online, agreed to meet, and drove to a motel to meet a 13-15-year-old for sex. A 4th man who drove off when he saw another arrest is being charged, as well. The names have not been released, as charges are pending. However, we have seen previews and know small bits of information about those arrested.
An 18-year-old who babysits children and expressed his affection for BDSM, a corrections officer who guards men accused of the same crime, and a laborer who has worked in the Michigan Governor's Mansion were all arrested. More, bigger operations across Michigan are on the way.
