4 Child Sex Predators Arrested In Paradise

Hawaii has increasingly targeted sexual predators under the guidance of Attorney General Clare Connors (D), who, since taking office just last year, has increased the number of arrests by nearly 20% by running stings across Oahu, Kauai, and Maui, resulting in dozens of men being caught.

Just last week, a sting occurred on Maui that arrested 3 men in a single weekend. Given the relatively-low population on Maui and the number of stings Hawaii has conducted, why anyone would show up is simply mind-boggling to consider.

     The men were frightening:

     1. Kyle Cribben, 28, of Napili, has previously been caught soliciting an underage teen for sex and had recently violated a restraining order imposed by his girlfriend. Given his record of offenses against women and children, his bond was set at half a million dollars.

     2. Joseph Montelongo, 34, of Haiku, and Eric Duncan, also 34, of Kehei, were also arrested and had their bonds set at $100,000.

     3. A 4th man, Rodney Shimoda, 64, of Kahului, was arrested for having a graphic chat and exposing himself to a minor.

The men are facing first- and second-degree felonies and could face up to 10-20 years in prison, according to Connors.
